Writing extends generational memory, so that each successive age of sons and daughters can remember the wisdom of the past and avoid the errors of yesterday. Why is writing important to me? It participates in the beautiful and anchors man's fleeting memories. Many can use writing, like most anything else, for naught or to violate one's fellow man. Sadly, words can steal or impose, but if properly handled, words fundamentally allow man to share meaning with one another and to build storehouses of memory and wisdom for our descendants.
